New Urbanists who love the craftsman, bungalow-style will love this 1939 classic Key West cottage with traditional oak and hardwood pine throughout. Enjoy enchanting outdoor spaces and views of the Manatee River -- close to the sandy white beaches of the Gulf of Mexico and easy access to the airports. We offer a uniquely traditional Florida experience — perfect for every day visits and holiday celebrations!! This exceptional home is NOT your cookie-cutter, prefab house. Our house has deep roots and heart. In fact, we have taken great pains to preserve as much authenticity as possible and create a space that is simple, clean, and uncluttered — a space in which to relax while you work on that novel, a space in which to make gourmet food and enjoy meals with family and friends — and a homebase while you explore the city, beaches and all the Gulf Coast of Florida has to offer.
Going to the island beaches? Leave the driving behind and take the Gulf Islands Ferry instead! The Ferry goes to Anna Maria Island and historic Bridge Street Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Ride times between stops range from 25-40 minutes.
The two 50-foot open-air catamarans, Miss Anna Maria and Downtown Duchess, hold 49 passengers and have two crew aboard to ensure smooth transport to and from each port.
To get to the Ferry from the house, simply walk west on the Riverwalk to the Green Bridge (the third bridge from the house) or drive to the day dock in downtown Bradenton.

The house is centrally located so it’s a perfect spot should you wish to be near the Gulf beaches, the Manatee River, the Manatee Area Civic Center, Manatee Memorial Hospital, the airports and other amenities. For example, the house sits on the Bradenton Riverwalk, a 3-mile-long (4.8km) public green space located along the Manatee River with lighted walkways for pedestrians, two parks (one with a tower that has an ADA-accessible ramp); skatepark; 400-seat amphitheater; playgrounds with exercise equipment, and gazebo with picnic tables.
We provide extremely comfortable beds (Green Tea mattresses made of memory foam and green tea-infused extract). We also offer high-speed Internet to handle all of your online requirements. Our fully-equipped kitchen (with plenty of pots and pans for cooking and baking) is perfect for quick meals or gourmet dinners (with convenient microwave and large oven with four-burner stovetop; a coffee maker and coffee grinder; blender; and toaster). The spacious closets are available for you to manage your wardrobe and stow your luggage throughout your stay. An iron and ironing board are available as well. Washer and dryer are available for your use and located in laundry closet in breezeway between house and detached garage.
Housekeeping takes inventory photos to document the condition of the house for liability purposes. Any and all damage or missing items are reported. Housekeeping observes Covid guidelines and follows standard cleaning protocols including The five-step cleaning process:
1. Prepare your equipment and ventilate the space before cleaning
2. Clean each area by removing dust and debris
3. Sanitize all high-touch surfaces, appliances, and electronics
4. Check that the space has been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized
5. Reset the room for the next guest and restock your supplies
Note: for guests with pets, there’s a convenient dog walk in the Memorial Tree Park (just across the street)!
We are located near Caddy’s, an open-air restaurant and tiki bar that features live music — and although it is difficult to hear the music inside with the HVAC on, we provide a white noise machine for those with sensitivities to sound. Caddy’s was rated among the best Bradenton restaurants on the water in 2022.
TVs are located in two of the three bedrooms (not in the living room). However, the living/dining room includes a workspace with a desk, chair and lamp. We provide free Internet Ultra 500 mbps, WiFi, Spectrum TV Choice (with 10+ channels) and two cable boxes. TV in master bedroom is a Vizio D-Series 40" Crystal-clear 1080p high definition.
We began hosting our own short term rental in 2022 (after having a rental company manage for us from 2019 and 2022). Self-management has been extremely rewarding as we are able to communicate directly with guests and offer more competitive pricing. We even offer special ‘discounts’. We do not allow guests to receive mail at the house address. We recommend guests get a post box at the USPS, the UPS Store or Fedex Store.
