The nearby Caloosahatchee River has lots of things to do like boating, fishing, sunning and bathing at public parks, with lots of restaurants along McGregor Blvd Also on McGregor Blvd near the City of Ft. Myers are the Ford and Edison Museums The Barbara Mann Theater is nearby for cultural entertainment. The San Carlos Blvd accesses the Beaches at the North end of the Island. Along the way you'll pass 2 miniature golf courses restaurants and the charter fishing center. Under the bridge and to the left before crossing are more restaurants. But crossing that bridge will give you the real feeling that you are on vacation. To the West on Summerlin Road 8 miles is the causeway for Sanibel & Captiva Islands.
