Travel Purpose: business

Positive: The house was nice. Comfortable and clean. One block from the beach, which was not too crowded, especially in comparison to the beaches near the hotels and high-rises.

Negative: The Southern Vacation Rentals were not at all pleasant to do business with. There was a stingy and untrusting quality about them, from the moment we signed on with Booking.com. (In fact, Booking.com might do well to associate with companies with a better work ethic and customer service. This one surprised us, as we've only had good experiences with Booking.com) I won't bore you with the procedural hassles we experienced with SVR but suffice it to say that it began with no fewer than 10 emails from them within the first hours of signing on. At the the house, The keypad is on a timer and even though no one was at the house and it was clearly ready when we arrived one hour early we were not allowed in even one minute early. That would have been a nice (though I know not required) welcome after a very long trip. It would have been nice to have a few essentials in the kitchen, such as coffee filters, salt and pepper, maybe a couple spices. Also maybe a hair dryer. It's hard to bring the kitchen with you when traveling, especially if you fly. Just a few ways to make renters feel welcome and appreciated.

Summary: A nice house but the rental company was not our favorite.
